Love is at "The Heart of Healing".
I am blessed, honored and graced with the opportunity to offer this body of work to you.

Overview of My Work

I specialize in two unique healing modalities. As a certified Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist (BCST) and Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI) Wellness Educator, I can facilitate, educate and support you in developing new tools and strategies for greater depth of connection to your body, mind and spirit.

I use these modalities and inner wisdom counseling techniques to help empower the healing wisdom within each individual and their connection to their heart and soul. This process of awakening to their nature enhances the quality of their life and health, and inspires soulful living. In turn, people who live soulful lives make contributions to the world that can make a difference.

My Training and Practices

I began my study of healing and spiritual practices in 1975, inspired by the guidance of Swami Ramananda. Under his instruction, I was introduced to natural healing, meditation techniques and practices from Eastern and Native American Cultures. This training earned me a Doctorate in Divinity, and inspired the pursuit of my purpose and mission to become a spiritual teacher, inner wisdom guide and healing practitioner.

As a result of my own healing crisis and near death experience, I incorporated Tibetan Buddhist practices, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST), Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) and Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI) as well as Jungian and Shamanic philosophies into my healing process. The dramatic results of this work inspired me to pursue further studies and become a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist (BCST) and a Certified SRI Wellness Educator. My years of study, experimentation and direct experience in spiritual traditions and practices as well as various healing techniques is reflected in my involvement in the following areas:

  • Healing Touch
  • Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage
  • The Usui and Tibetan lineages of Reiki, becoming a Reiki Teacher
  • Three-year training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, BCST; advanced courses in Shock/Trauma and Pediatrics
  • Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI) advanced training
  • Vipassana Meditation
  • Tibetan Buddhist practices
  • Jungian Analysis
  • Non -Violent Communication
  • Tai Chi
  • Vision Quests
  • Pilgrimages around the world
  • Shamanic Journeys

I provide a variety of opportunities to share the wisdom, skills and knowledge of the spiritual and healing practices I have so graciously been given.

My programs and healing practice include:

  • Soulgazm Retreats Women's retreats: discovering and celebrating soulful living
  • Biodynamic Craniosacral sessions and training
  • SRI sessions and training
  • Inner Wisdom Guidance: I provide personal life and spiritual counseling, teach mindfulness meditation and facilitate you in discovering your soul's purpose. I will work with you in person or over the phone.
  • The Heart of Healing: an internet radio show broadcast on
  • My writings: including my first book, Cycle of Life Journey, available at

In 2003, I completed a 700 hour course in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and became a Registered Craniosacral Therapist (BCST®). This training involved extensive study of neuroanatomy and embryology.

I have completed two additional courses in Pediatric Craniosacral Therapy, advanced courses in Shock & Trauma, two collaborative courses comparing Jungian Analysis approach and the BCST principles around the Breath of Life and the incarnation of soul. I have been a teaching assistant and college mentor for an introductory course in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. I have attended eight regular and four advanced courses in SRI and received Certificates of Completion.

For my inner work as a person and healer, I continue to receive SRI/NSA, BCST and Jungian Analysis for my own wellness, evolution and transformation and to deepen my connection to my soul's purpose and wholeness. I feel that I do not have the right to work with someone at these profound levels of intimacy if I'm not deepening into my own soulful healing and living.

I have a private practice in Durango and Dolores, Colorado, and I'm available for lectures, workshops and training. To set up an appointment for a personal healing session in person or on the phone, please email me at

Somato Respiratory Integration & Wellness Education
Developed by Dr. Donald Epstein

The concept and exercises of Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI), or the 12 Stages of Healing, are specifically designed to educate you about your body rhythms, patterns and inner wisdom. To facilitate this, SRI utilizes focused attention, gentle breath, motion and touch. As a consequence of such heightened attention and awareness, many beneficial physiological changes may occur. SRI exercises engages the frontal cortex of the brain in such a way that the nervous system changes from a defense physiology to a safety physiology. This creates throughout the body a sense of safety, reducing stress and allowing for greater healing potential. SRI helps all body systems interrelate, exchange information, and become self-organizing.

Simply st40-Soulgazm.html#buyattune to your body so you can connect to yourself. We generally disconnect from ourselves rather than experience painful feelings, such as worthlessness, helplessness, fear or anger. As we disconnect from ourselves, we avoid life. We disassociate with anything that triggers these feelings. We anesthetize ourselves from ourselves. Self-awareness is primary to re-establishing a conscious connection to our body so the information it provides us can be heard.

What are the SRI Concepts and Benefits?

The SRI exercises produce Somoto (body) Respiratory (breath) Integration and consist of 12 stages of healing that are grouped into four seasons or cycles. These cycles are referred to as Discovery, Transformation, Awakening and Integration. Each cycle brings to us gifts of greater self-awareness and inner connection.

These exercises help you discover patterns in your body, such as:

  • Where tension and ease are carried in the body.
  • Where breathing is easy or difficult.
  • Where energy is stuck.
  • Where body patterns are locked in polarity and how to integrate these energies.
  • How to access energy and breathe to bring comfort where there is pain.

All of these patterns are anchored in the body and manifest in our perceptions and actions of life. For example, if I am stuck in my body, I can also be stuck in my emotions, mental perceptions or ability to make changes in my life.

Once these areas of energy and patterns are discovered they can be used to transform old patterns and allow for new choices to be made in your body, mind and spirit. This might include taking your power back, merging with the illusions of old concepts and resolving to make new choices.

Following transformation, there is an awakening to the community and wholeness of the body, mind and spirit. There is a new relationship created where you actively participate in supporting your wholeness. You recognize and embrace your gifts and celebrate in bringing them forth to benefit others in the world. This translates into how we can live in community supporting the wholeness of humanity.

All of these new awareness's of body, mind and spirit are embodied and you are living in relationship to your wholeness. One feels they are living in wellness and can face life with more flexibility, conscious awareness and gratitude with a deep connection to your inner wisdom. Your quality of life is enhanced.

SRI is used as a home support program of self-care. The SRI exercises will help you experience your body more fully with safety and ease. It is my experience that SRI provides a positive and constructive tool that you can use to deepen the understanding, trust and well being of your body-mind. In times of symptom crises, SRI can offer you a method to redirect your body awareness, release tension and promote a greater sense of ease.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

Be still and know.
Within the stillness and quiet resides our unconditional healing nature where you can experience the Breath of Life.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) originated in the osteopathic approach to healing developed by Dr. William Sutherland. It is a gentle hands-on technique that activates the natural healing potential within the cerebrospinal fluid. CST helps to resolve and integrate trauma and stress patterns that are held within our body and brain, thereby improving our ability to function. Under stress, the capacity to connect the right and left hemispheres of the brain is diminished. The emotional right hemisphere cannot communicate with the more logical left hemisphere. CST helps to restore this connection. It has a relaxing affect upon the nervous system, thereby enhancing the body-mind connection and the innate healing potential of the body.

About Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

In the last six years of his life (1942-1948), Osteopathic Physician William Sutherland discovered principles that changed the way he treated his patients. Sutherland used the term Primary Respiration to portray the fluid movement of the cranial bones. Through what he called the dynamic stillness (found at the core of each person), he identified a self-generating source of healing called the Breath of Life. He determined that a state of health is located within each of us and that we contain the innate knowledge and resources to help heal ourselves. During therapy sessions, we are looking for the movement in the fluid body that has order and organization. There is an intrinsic order (and self-organization intelligence in the system) that can bring order to tissues and compressed fluids. Re-molding biodynamically is done by supporting change from the inside-out.

Dr. Sutherland believed that the Breath of Life is a divine communicating force that can help the therapist access the patientŐs inner health. He perceived the Breath of Life as the palpable tidal movement of the fluids of the body. Its origin is in the book of Genesis in the Creation story and is also referred to in the folklore of many cultures. Sutherland realized the importance of this work and his work shifted completely. He began to recognize the reverence and awe in the stillness, and he devoted his study and research to this in his final years.

There are two types of Craniosacral methods. The Biodynamic techniques accommodate the internal movement of the body's fluids related to the organizing and ordering movements within the embryonic development. In Biomechanical Craniosacral Therapy, the clinician uses techniques to follow movement of the bones and tissues. Both techniques are very gentle and calming to the nervous system.

A Gentle & Holistic Approach

The intention of treatment is to facilitate the expression of the Breath of Life and so enhance the body's own Self-healing and self-regulating capabilities. This is done in a non-invasive way as the practitioner subtly and gently encourages the re-emergence of the innate healing forces. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy takes a whole-person approach to healing and the inter-connections of mind. Body and spirit are deeply acknowledged. It is an effective form of treatment for a wide range of illnesses helping to create the optimal conditions for health, encouraging vitality and facilitating a sense of well-being. It is suitable for people of all ages including babies, children and the elderly, and can be effective in acute or chronic cases.

Some of the conditions that respond to a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy are:

  • Asthma
  • Birth trauma
  • Migraines
  • Stress conditions/PTSD
  • Back & neck pain
  • Depression
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • TMJ

Who can benefit from BCST?

Everyone can benefit, though with some, the improvement may be more dramatic than with others. Because BCST builds health in the brain and nervous system, it is excellent for prevention of chronic conditions, including the problems of aging, stiffness, dryness, memory loss, inflammation and immune imbalances. And how many of us have not had a head or tailbone injury from sports, falls, violence or auto accidents? Even minor surgeries, including dental work, can create strains and anesthesia residues that are wonderfully treatable through BCST. Orthodontic braces may inhibit the cranial bone motions. If we felt upset when something overwhelming was happening, the emotion may lock in the strain, making the injury more difficult to heal.

Is BCST safe for children?

Birth trauma commonly affects one throughout life unless addressed. BCST therapy can support the healing of that trauma. Children respond well to BCST because it is gentle, non-invasive and effective in ways they can intuitively recognize. Even small children soon get used to the work as they develop trust in their practitioner. Pre-verbal children often point to the area of their head that needs work. They may even take the practitioner's finger and push it into an area of the mouth where the problem can be best approached. Children easily show the dynamics of their experience through movement and sounds. Parents are often astounded at the way an irritable or hyperactive child will fall into deep relaxation or sleep during treatment. A little goes a long way in treating a child. Whatever can be resolved during infancy or childhood, often in only a few sessions, can prevent decades of medical and psychological treatment later on, especially given that the Biodynamic approach is known to have a lasting effect.

Is BCST safe during pregnancy?

BCST is not only safe but recommended during pregnancy, as it calms the nervous system of both mother and child, encouraging emotional bonding which can otherwise be short-circuited due to pre-natal and birth stresses and trauma. The Biodynamic approach can contact the Primal Midline of the infant's delicate nervous system -- the midline that holds our Originality, the state of perfection that enables us to be less affected by negative influences from our genetics. Also, although the growing prenate is highly conscious, s/he does not usually know the difference between mother's thoughts and feelings and its own. When Mom's system is soothed and balanced during pregnancy, the baby gains huge benefits.

"We live in the age of post-traumatic stress. September 11, 2001 in America was a vivid confirmation of this fact. We see it written on the bodies and imprinted in the craniosacral systems of our clients. It is epidemic and is changing the way biodynamic craniosacral therapy is practiced."

Michael J. Shea, Ph.D.
Shock-Trauma and the Craniosacral System

As a Biodynamic Craniosacral therapist who understands the condition of a nervous system in post-traumatic stress, I find that love is the greatest resource and my clients take huge leaps embracing and trusting their healing capacity when they feel surrounded in love and can access their felt sense of love. This creates a field of energy that supports the nervous system's healing process.

Ultimately, BCST is a tool that can benefit us all -- from reducing stress to experiencing our Divinity.
